I took a piece of bread to see if the fly was attracted... I was surprised. It stayed there for about 20 minutes and I could get very close (about 2 inches) without scaring it.

I am looking to buy a macro lens and stumbled on a review you made on the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM and basically you sold me. 
This is an amazing shot and I can't wait to get it to be taking some of my very own. Which extension tube did you use by the way? And did you use a handheld flash or a macro ring? Thanks much for showing me what the lens can do! AMAZING SHOT!
